Third Avenue and Railway Avenue intersection temporarily closed (17 August – October 2021).
Northbound traffic on Railway Avenue will shift from the west lane to the east lane, with access to Kelvale Medical Centre still via Railway Avenue (northbound).
Information regarding Road Closures and Detours
Due to the Denny Ave Level Crossing removal, there are extensive roadworks underway in the area. You may need to take a detour to get to the practice.
Kelvale Medical Group is STILL OPEN, AND ACCESS TO THE SURGERY WILL BE MAINTAINED THROUGHOUT THE PROJECT.
Project Details:
The Denny Avenue level crossing is permanently closed to vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians.
The intersection at Gilwell Avenue is now open.
Davis Road Underpass is now open:
We just wanted to let you know that the new Davis Road underpass is now open!
The underpass will have one lane of traffic in each direction and will be operating under traffic management. Also, there won’t be pedestrian access just yet but this will come in time as more lanes are added.
However, this does mean another change to the local road arrangements surrounding the surgery.
The easiest route to the surgery is now from the south along Railway Avenue.

Please remember to drive slowly, ask the traffic managers for directions (if required) and stay safe.
