COVID-19 Updates

This page will be used to assist patients with the following during the current pandemic:

  • publish relevant government guidance information
  • answer frequently asked questions
  • display information about changes to our processes
  • update you as to the availability of certain procedures and types of consultations
  • provide information about the availability and working patterns of our doctors
  • provide any other useful information to you as the situation develops

Telehealth

As you may well have understood from the media, the government have made certain consultations available to be performed over the telephone or via video call applications in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Some of our doctors’ appointments are available for these telehealth consultations. However, this method of working cannot be applied to all consultations.

Therefore, we request that should patients consider themselves suitable for a telehealth consultation they phone our reception team on 9495 1230 as they will be able to book these appointments and assist you should a telehealth appointment not be appropriate or possible.

Maintaining the availability of our surgery

The core of our approach to providing healthcare currently is to keep our surgery open and accepting patient visits.

Whilst telephone consultations will have an important part to play, we believe that continuing to open our surgery is also essential in making sure our patients still receive the healthcare they would at any other time.

In order to achieve this goal, there are a few steps we have taken:

1. New Opening Hours

Our NEW HOURS effective from Monday 30th March.

  • Mon to Fri - 8am to 5pm
  • Sat - 9am to 2pm
  • Sun - CLOSED until further notice
  • P/Hols - CLOSED until further notice

Walk in Patients will always be accommodated where possible.

2. Triage at Front Desk

Due to the current situation with COVID-19 patients and all other visitors will be triaged at the front desk.

To avoid the spread of infection, please note that the patient and only one support person (parent/carer) will be allowed into the practice.

PLEASE NOTE: ONLY THE PATIENT will be allowed in the consult room with the doctor.

3. Extra Cleaning

We have significantly increased the level of cleaning throughout the practice throughout the day in order to provide as virus free an environment as possible.

4. Social Distancing

We have rearranged our practice layout and removed some furniture to make social distancing as automatic and easy as possible within the practice.

We have made alterations to the movement of people throughout the practice, and our practices when patients are in consulting rooms and at reception.

In future we will be enhancing and changing these arrangements. This includes adding facilities for patients who arrive at the practice but may be infectious.

Changes to Doctors' working methods and availability:

All of our doctors at the practice have decided to continue attending the practice and make themselves available for appointments as usual.

Please phone reception on 9495 1230 if you need more information about our new procedures, or any of the services that we provide.

If you have or think you have any COVID-19 symptoms, then please do telephone the practice and let our reception staff know this at the time of booking your appointment. That way they can ensure you receive the most appropriate appointment or provide further guidance.
